The San Diego Weed Management Area (SDWMA) is a group of agencies, organizations and individuals working together to control selected invasive plant species within San Diego County. The primary target species selected for mapping and control efforts include; perennial pepperweed (Lepidium latifolium), yellow starthistle (Centaurea solstitialis), purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) and spotted knapweed (Centaurea maculosa). The collaboration of the stakeholders in the SDWMA is what has created the success of the organization. Many of our stakeholders are working on additional weed species in their project areas. The SDWMA holds regular meetings to network, educate members and coordinate activities. All interested persons are welcome to attend stakeholder meetings.
