Exotic Insect Identification

Annual Training with AWM Pest Detection Staff

The California Department of Food and Agriculture conducted their annual Exotic Insect Identification training with AWM Pest Detection staff.  Staff learned the difference between common insects and the exotic, damaging pests that AWM’s trapping program targets.  Staff ended their training with a “slop test” where all targeted exotic insects were placed in strainers along with more common insects and participants were asked to identify all exotic pests. Everyone passed!
