AWM Trains Employees around California on Pesticide Safety and Inspection Compliance

Environmental Health Vector Control Employees Trained

Agriculture, Weights and Measures (AWM) staff trained more than 100 Department of Environmental Health Vector Control employees from around the state Nov. 14 on the proper use of personal protective equipment and general pesticide safety compliance. Employees traveled from as far away as Kern County to receive the safety instruction as part of an effort to improve compliance statewide. The training emphasized choosing protective eyewear, gloves and other protective equipment that fit properly and are appropriate for the situation. AWM is committed to reaching out to pesticide users with the goal of promoting compliance with laws, regulations and pesticide product labeling.
