Purpose: The Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) program provides in-service training for providers and staff as well as school, childcare, preschool and Head Start staff in San Diego County.

Services for Providers

  • The CHDP program offers in-services every other month for all San Diego County CHDP providers and staff. Information provided includes CHDP program overview, screening requirement, Gateway process, and billing procedures. Information is available regarding health education topics, resources and related programs. The CHDP provider in-service is held the first Wednesday of every month.
  • The CHDP program provides Hearing and Vision Screening Trainings that consist of lectures and a hands-on practicum sessions. The CHDP program also hosts periodic in-service training on a variety of topics for CHDP providers and their staff as well as community professionals.

Services for School and Childcare Staff

  • The CHDP program offers training on school entry health exam requirements. Training is open to all school staff and childcare providers.
