San Diego County Library (SDCL) is celebrating Library Month throughout April by telling the story of the essential services that libraries provide and the people who make it possible. April 11 is National Bookmobile Day, and SDCL is celebrating by honoring their two bookmobiles that provide service and smiles to underserved communities. The North Bookmobile and East Bookmobile stop at 37 locations throughout the month, visit http://www.sdcl.org for a full list of dates and locations.
"In our part of the San Diego County backcountry, county services provided are few," said Warner Springs resident Linda Bovet. "A very welcome and important part of our living experiences is the bi-monthly bookmobile that brings valued resources."
The County Library's bookmobiles offer a variety of services, including access to the library's full collection of books, movies, and music. SDCL provides access to over 33 million items, and bookmobile customers can request any item to be delivered to their stop. The bookmobiles also provide free internet access and a variety of programs. Bookmobile customers love their library and shared their experiences in the following video: http://bit.ly/SDCLBookmobile.
"My goal is that our customers are treated the way I want to be treated," said North Bookmobile manager Luis Damian. "All of my customers are my number one customers."
