Community Enhancement Program

The Community Enhancement Program is funded by a set percent of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) revenues. The goal of the Community Enhancement Program is to stimulate tourism, promote the economy, create jobs, and/or a better quality of life. Entities and activities currently funded are cultural activities, museums, visitor and convention bureaus, economic development councils, and other similar institutions/organizations, including County programs and projects, which promote and generate tourism and/or economic development within San Diego County.

Grant funds shall not be used for any purposes prohibited by laws governing the use of public funds, including but not limited to, religious, political campaigning, or purely private purposes or activities.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Community Enhancement application to seek funding for Fiscal Year July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 is now available. Applications and packets must be received no later than Friday, March 1, 2019. Application and instructions can be found below. PLEASE NOTE: In lieu of applicants providing an in-person presentation to the Board of Supervisors, organizations may submit video testimony for their request of Community Enhancement grant funding via an online portal at https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/content/sdc/cob/ce-videos.html. Video testimony will be accepted until 5 PM on April 1, 2019. Please note that the Board of Supervisors will not be holding hearings specifically for Community Enhancement applicants this year.

Before You Start:

  1. Please have the latest Adobe Reader installed. http://get.adobe.com/reader/
  2. Save the application to your computer before starting.
    Windows Machines:
    Right-Click on link and choose "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" on the menu
    Save the file to your computer
    Mac Machines:
    Hold the Command button as you click (this simulates a right-click)
    Choose "Save As" on the menu
    Save the file to your computer
  3. Open the Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat program and choose File|Open and then navigate to the place where you saved your application. This will allow you to open and save the application at your leisure.
