Attention Students and Teachers of San Diego County

Submit Your Artwork Today!

The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District is having an open call for entries into the annual Kids’ Calendar Contest. If you live in San Diego County and are in Kindergarten through 12 th grade we want your original artwork depicting clean air messages and ways to reduce air pollution. Winners will have their artwork featured in the 2019 calendar.  There will be thirteen (13) contest winners (1 for the calendar cover and 1 for each month). All entries will be featured in a gallery on the APCD website. So get creative with your art supplies and enter the contest today!

Entry Form

Entry Instructions:

Thirteen (13) winners will be selected, one (1) for each month and one (1) for the cover of the calendar.

1.  Draw a color picture showing ways to reduce air pollution. Artwork must be your own original artwork.

2.  Artwork must be on an 8 1/2” X 11” piece of paper, turned lengthwise (horizontal).

3.  Students must live in San Diego County.

4.  Submit artwork along with completed entry form to:

5.  Do not fold or staple artwork.

6.  Ensure artwork is submitted by November 2, 2018.

School and Youth Programs  

The District supports science-based programs that educate youth and families about the impacts of air pollution. We aim to teach students about where air pollution comes from and ways to reduce it in San Diego County.  


Speaker Requests

District staff will come to your school and talk to students about air quality and protecting public health. Community Outreach staff work with teachers to coordinate the best date and time that works with their classroom schedule. Contact the Community Outreach Office to schedule a speaker for your school. (We also give presentations to other youth group programs.)
