Office of Strategy and Intergovernmental Affairs
The CAO's Office of Strategy and Intergovernmental Affairs (SIA) manages the Legislative Program of the Board of Supervisors and responds to state and federal legislation that could affect the County. Each year, the Board of Supervisors adopts a Legislative Program, which consists of four components:
- Legislative or budget proposals recommended for Board sponsorship;
- Priority legislative proposals recommended for Board support upon introduction by others;
- Continuing issues at the state and federal level requiring the county's attention in the coming year; and
- Legislative Policy Guidelines revised to reflect Board actions taken over the previous year.
Our Mission: To enhance the quality of life for San Diego County residents through a strategic legislative advocacy program at the federal, state and local levels.
