COVID-19 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) public health emergency, the County of San Diego has made several changes to Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board meetings to protect the public's health and prevent the disease from spreading.

California Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-29-20 on March 17, 2020, relating to the convening of public meetings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pursuant to the Executive Order, and to maintain the orderly conduct of the meeting, the Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board will only be conducting hearings via video conferencing or teleconference and will participate in the meeting to the same extent as if they were present. 

Additionally, the County of San Diego will allow the public to participate in the meetings via teleconference, instead of attending in person. Due to the Executive Order to stay home, in person participation at Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board meetings will not be allowed at this time.

Members of the public wishing to participate via telephone should contact the Deputy Clerk at (619) 531-5434 to obtain the call-in number and correlating access code.

 

The Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board is composed of five members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. This Board is administered by the Clerk of the Board and is not a part of the Air Pollution Control District Office. The members of the Board have professional experience in the fields of medicine, engineering, law, and include two members of the public. The Board is an impartial entity established to hear and decide appeals from permit denials, application for variances from Air Pollution Control District Rules and Regulations, hear abatement order requests. Persons or companies requiring a Variance from the Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board may file a Request for Variance by mail or in person at the office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 402, San Diego, CA 92101.
