Food Help

Feeding San Diego distributes more than 31.2 million meals a year across San Diego County. Public distributions are listed below, with possible restrictions noted.  Click here to find a Feeding San Diego location near you.

The USDA can help you find meals for kids when schools are closed. Click here to to find a location near you.

San Diego Food Bank Super Pantries are food distribution hubs located across San Diego County that offer both contactless “drive-thru” and “walk-up” food distribution services. All Super Pantries are open for food distribution a minimum of 3 days per week. Click here and look under "Super Pantry Program" to see a list of places near you.

 

 

 

Help with Utilities

SDG&E offers monthly discounts through their CARE and FERA Programs. Click here to learn more and apply online.

In March of 2020, United Way of San Diego County launched the San Diego Worker Assistance Initiative as part of the greater San Diego COVID-19 Community Response Fund, to provide flexible resources to individuals impacted by layoffs and reduced working hours implemented by employers. Click here to learn more about the initiative.

 

 

 

Internet Assistance

Cox provides low cost internet for households that have at least one K-12 student and participate in a government assistance program through its Connect2Compete program. Click here to learn more and apply online.

Computers2Kids provides affordable computers and software with expert technical support through their Technology Assistance Program. Click here to learn more and apply.

Rental Help

The County of San Diego provides several rental assistance programs to help people pay their rent so they may live in a safe, healthy place. Click here to learn more from Housing and Community Development Services.
The County’s 2021 Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) helps eligible households in qualifying areas who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides payment assistance for renters who need help with rent and utilities. Click here to learn more about the 2021 ERAP.

Cal-Learn is a statewide program for pregnant and parenting teens in the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program. It is designed to encourage pregnant and parenting teens to graduate from high school or its equivalent, become independent, and form healthy families.
 
Fostering Change is a program from Live Well San Diego and San Diego HHSA designed to help foster youth achieve self-sufficiency when they age out of foster care. They provide intensive life skills training and case management support.
