Catering and Host Facilities
Host Facility, Summary of Requirements
Host facilities, which are subject to plan check requirements and annual inspections, provide the caterer with access to:
- potable hot and cold water
- a mop sink
- electricity to power portable mechanical refrigeration equipment
- commercial restroom
Caterers Operating at a Host Facility, Summary of Requirements
Caterers must meet the standards that apply to traditional caterers. In addition, while operating at a host facility, caterers must:
- utilize portable mechanical refrigeration,
- provide an
approved hand-washing station in the food preparation area,
- conduct only limited food preparation.
A caterer can also provide traditional catering to private events. Inspections of caterers will take place at their commissary and in the field.
To apply to become a Caterer who operates at a Host Facility – complete the Catering Standard Operating Procedure and submit via our Online Citizen Portal following our Online Plan Submission Instructions.
The host facility and catering permits are additional options for food service – not a requirement.
