Family Reunification/Family Maintenance
When a child is removed from the parents or legal guardian, a foster care case is opened. The Agency then establishes a plan called Family Reunification and partners with the family to create a list of expectations and goals for the family so that the family can be strengthened and have the children return to the parents' care.
When a child is not removed from the home and the court is involved, the Agency establishes a plan called Family Maintenance. The family is offered the same services as Family Reunification and Voluntary Services cases. Family Maintenance follows the same timeline as Family Reunification.
