Summary The decedent was a 14 year old Hispanic male who resided with family in an apartment in Escondido. On the evening of 06/25/2022, the decedent was at a relative's residence when he and a cousin departed the residence to go for a walk nearby. The decedent was crossing an intersection in Escondido when he was struck by a black SUV. The driver of vehicle did not stop and left the scene. A 911 call was placed and Escondido Police Department and Escondido Fire Department rescue personnel arrived on scene and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) efforts while transporting the decedent to the Palomar Medical Center Emergency Department (ED). Upon arrival to the ED, medical staff continued CPR efforts, to no avail. Death was pronounced shortly after his arrival.

Summary The decedent was a 44-year-old male who appeared to live a homeless lifestyle. On 12/15/2021 at 0639 hours, a Traffic Enforcement Officer was in the process of citing an empty vehicle when they saw the decedent lying face down on the shoulder near the vehicle. Paramedics arrived and confirmed death due to post mortem changes.
