The Project includes a General Plan Amendment (PDS2021-GPA-21-001).


The County of San Diego (County) is updating the Housing Element for the 2021-2029 planning period (6th Housing Element Cycle), as required by State law. California Government Code (65580 - 65589.11) requires that the County update the Housing Element every eight years. These frequent updates are required because housing is critical to ensure economic prosperity and quality of life in our region. The 2021-2029 Housing Element will include housing-related goals, policies, and programs to address the existing and projected future housing needs of the unincorporated County.

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency and for the safety of the public and staff, the Planning & Development Services lobbies are temporarily closed to the public. Updating the General Plan's Housing and Safety Elements and creating an Environmental Justice Element General Information Page

Under this process public review is not required, however any comments received will be accepted and taken into consideration.
