ABOUT US
San Diego County Fire was formed in 2008 to unify the administrative support, communications, and training of 15 rural fire agencies and extend around-the-clock protection to 1.5 million acres of the unincorporated county.
Today, San Diego County Fire strives to provide the highest level of
service using an Integrated Cooperative Regional Fire Protection
System; delivering fire protection and emergency services to over 40
communities through 35 fire stations and over 500 first
responders.

First EMS Corps Training Class Graduates

EMS Corps: Applications Open
The San Diego County Fire EMS Corps program is a 5-month long EMT job training program for youth between the ages of 18-26 that provides both in-depth EMT training, along with robust wraparound services that supports student success, such as:
- A $1,500 per month stipend while in the program
- Coverage for the cost of textbooks, NREMT exam, and EMT credentialing fees
- A new laptop that you can keep if you complete the program
- Individualized case management
- Academic tutoring
- Mental health counseling
- Physical fitness coaching
- Job readiness coaching
- Employment opportunities with ambulance agency partners
County Fire is currently recruiting for our third cohort at Southwestern College, which starts in early July. The cohort is limited to 20 students so interested applicants are encouraged to submit a completed application early by going to the San Diego EMS Corps website. Completed applications will be reviewed as they come in, and selected applicants will be invited for an interview.
