The Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) Department is the County’s new approach to empowering children, youth, and families to have the support, connections, and resources to be healthy and remain together without system involvement.

兒童和家庭福祉

CFWB 專注於虐待和忽視兒童的案件，採用傳統方法來減少和防止虐待兒童，例如：

  • 緊急應變（虐待兒童調查）－調查可能有虐待或忽視兒童的報告，並決定是否需要更多協助來保護兒童。
  • 寄養和收養服務－社工與法院和法律夥伴密切合作，盡可能讓兒童留在親屬身邊，並幫助家庭團聚，始終將兒童的安全和福祉放在首位。.
  • 延長寄養－為 18 至 21 歲的年輕人提供持續的照顧和服務，幫助他們順利成年。
  • 安置和支持服務－尋找和支持寄養家庭，並幫助社工將兒童安置在最適合他們的家庭中。.
  • 青少年強化和庇護計劃
    • 波林斯基兒童中心—一個短期庇護所（最多 10 天），為受到保護性監護的兒童提供照顧和支持。
    • 聖帕斯誇爾學院——為 12 至 19 歲寄養青少年提供的校園，提供安全的家、個人化的教育和生活技能，幫助他們為成年做好準備。

Our priorities

Our primary focus is strengthening families so that children grow up nurtured and safe. We help families and communities create plans and make decisions to keep children safe. We use three priorities to guide these decisions:

  • Safely stabilize and preserve families; and if that is not possible…
  • Safely care for children and then return them to their original families; and if that is not possible…
  • Safely support a permanent residence and provide for long-term relationships for children and youth.
