Yasamin works across the County organization and throughout the region to strengthen the local food system and improve access to healthy, affordable food. As part of the Office of Sustainability and Environmental Justice, she leads the County’s internal Food Systems Initiative Work Group, bringing together County departments to coordinate efforts, identify opportunities, and advance strategies that address food insecurity and support a more equitable food system.

Yasamin manages implementation of the Food Justice Community Action Plan, a Countywide effort focused on advancing community-informed strategies to improve food access, expand opportunities for community food production, and strengthen coordination across the food system. Through her work, she builds partnerships, connects stakeholders, and helps turn shared priorities into programs and policies that benefit communities throughout the region.

She is passionate about collaboration and creating spaces where people can come together, share ideas, and work toward solutions that address complex community challenges. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Law and Society from the University of California San Diego. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends.
