The Office of Sustainability & Environmental Justice advances collaborative sustainability solutions that repair systemic inequities and environmental burdens throughout the County organization and across the greater San Diego region.
Our work
The Office of Sustainability and Environmental Justice brings together residents, businesses, local governments, and community and regional partners to equitably move San Diego County toward a pollution-free, zero carbon emissions future. We do this by:
- Making sure community values guide our decisions
- Helping grow new sustainability ideas and supporting initiatives already happening in the region
- Facilitating real, on-the-ground change that advances environmental justice
- Collaborating with our colleagues across the County organization for seamless services that improve access and outcomes for residents and businesses.
- Connecting people, places, and programs so our work is effective, efficient, and wholehearted.
