About Us

OVRS is:

By law, OVRS reviews and registers birth, death, and fetal death records in San Diego. Records are then sent to the  San Diego County Clerk .

  • Records are maintained for the current and prior years.
  • Burial permits are maintained for one (1) year.
  • Medical, and some non-medical, information are coded for statistical reasons. This coding allows agencies to assess health needs and trends and carry out research.
