The San Diego County Adult/Older Adult System of Care offers a wide variety of treatment, rehabilitation and recovery services to help people who are experiencing persistent and severe mental illness or an addiction health crisis. All services provided are oriented to meet the unique linguistic and cultural needs of the persons served.
The system strives to ensure that the County residents have access to quality services as guided by our mission, principles and goals.

Adult/Older Adult System of Care
The Adult/Older Adult System of Care is responsible for oversight, planning and program development for the public adult system of care for San Diego County.
The public system is responsible for providing the services for County residents who are experiencing a health crisis or who have, as a primary diagnosis, persistent, severe mental illness or addiction illness. Services are provided directly through County-operated facilities, as well as through contracts with community providers and individual fee-for-service providers. Administrative functions include Quality Improvement, grievance and complaint procedures, billing and claiming procedures, direction and coordination of medical record services, and contract administration.
