Residential Treatment

Residential treatment facilities provide community-based specialty licensed mental health or substance use services as an alternative to acute psychiatric hospitalization and institutional care. Services within this category include:

  • Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Programs for Youth
  • Substance Use Residential Services

Community-Based Care

Community-based care is provided in facilities that offer 24/7 care and supervision for people with various levels of clinical and social needs to support recovery and rehabilitation within the community. Services within this category include:

  • Assisted Living and Board & Care Facilities
  • Recuperative Care

Skilled Nursing and Care in a Secured Setting

Skilled nursing and secured care programs, also known as subacute services, provide care for people who are stepping down from psychiatric acute inpatient care or for people whose acuity may have intensified and need a higher level of care. Services within this category include:

  • Mental Health Rehabilitation Centers
  • Skilled Nursing Facilities
