2025 County Legislative Advocacy

The 2025 Legislative Program includes new sponsorship proposals, priority issues, and guidelines. During this legislative session, the Board of Supervisors has taken a position on the following bills:

• County Positions on State Bills
• County Positions on Federal Bills

These documents will be updated as bills move through the legislative process.

Legislative Program Updates

Sponsorship proposals

We hope to partner with state and federal lawmakers to draft bills that:

• Increase access to dental care
• Provide healthcare to people experiencing homelessness
• Allow people to get medication from mobile pharmacies
• Help protect homes from wildfires

Priority issues

We added two new Priority Issues for 2025, which were moved out from other issue areas to emphasize their urgency and importance to the community. They are:

• Tijuana River Valley
• Insurance accessibility and affordability

Policy guidelines

We updated and included new language to address community concerns like:

• Disaster response
• Housing development
• Substance use disorder treatment
• Stormwater infrastructure
