Continued Planning Commission Public Meetings During the Coronavirus Public Health Emergency
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency the County of San Diego is changing how it conducts many of its essential services and programs, including public meetings.
On March 17, 2020, California Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-29-20, relating to the convening of public meetings in the State of California in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Executive Order outlined requirements for public meetings to take place telephonically or electronically without the need for the public or members of the local legislative body like the Planning Commission to attend in person. Further, the Governor has ordered most Californians to remain in their home, recognizing, however, the great need to continue the operation of essential critical infrastructure sectors, including government services.
Members of the public may participate in the meeting in-person or via teleconference pursuant to the regulations in place at the time of the meeting. Members of the public may submit e-comments.
Large groups wishing to comment on an item are encouraged to submit e-comments or to identify one spokesperson to join the teleconference on behalf of the group. If you have any questions, please contact the Planning Commission Secretary at Ann.Jimenez@sdcounty.ca.gov.

The San Diego County Planning Commission (PC) meets monthly to consider land use projects that affect unincorporated areas of San Diego County. All Planning Commission Hearings are held at 9:00 a.m. (unless otherwise noted) at the County Operations Center (COC) Hearing Room, 5520 Overland, San Diego, CA 92123.
ASSISTANCE FOR THE DISABLED:
Agendas and records are available in alternative formats upon request. Contact the Planning and Development Services office at (858) 694-3003 with questions or to request a disability-related accommodation. Individuals requiring sign language interpreters should contact the Countywide ADA Title II Coordinator at (619) 531-4908. To the extent reasonably possible, requests for accommodation or assistance should be submitted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting so that arrangements may be made. An area in the front of the room can be designated for individuals requiring the use of wheelchair or other accessible devices.
LANGUAGE TRANSLATION ASSISTANCE:
Language translation services for public speakers are available at Planning Commission Hearings. Languages identified as languages with a Substantial Number of Limited English-Speaking Persons in the County (currently defined as Spanish, Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Arabic) may be made available upon request to the Commission Secretary at least 72 hours prior to the hearing (refer to Board Policy A-139 for additional information). Documents received later than 4:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to
the Planning Commission hearing will be provided to the
Commissioners upon receipt; however, the Commissioners may not have
sufficient time to review them. If you wish to speak on an item or
register your opinion for an item, speaker slips are available in
the rear of the Chambers, during hearings, and must be turned in
prior to the item being called on the corresponding agenda.
