Planning Commission Hearings
Continued Planning Commission Public Meetings During the Coronavirus Public Health Emergency
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency the County of San Diego is changing how it conducts many of its essential services and programs, including public meetings.
On March 17, 2020, California Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-29-20, relating to the convening of public meetings in the State of California in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Executive Order outlined requirements for public meetings to take place telephonically or electronically without the need for the public or members of the local legislative body like the Planning Commission to attend in person. Further, the Governor has ordered most Californians to remain in their home, recognizing, however, the great need to continue the operation of essential critical infrastructure sectors, including government services.
As a result, the County will continue to serve its residents, which includes holding public meetings of the Board and the Planning Commission. These meetings are necessary in order to perform essential government functions. In person participation will be prohibited, but members of the public will be able to provide comments through teleconference during public meetings of the Planning Commission and by submitting e-comments and/or written comments prior to the meeting.
