Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement
The Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement (OLSE) was created by the County Board of Supervisors in 2021 to serve as the main resource for workers and employers, aiming to ensure a fair and safe workplace. OLSE is dedicated to addressing the needs of both workers and businesses through education, outreach, data collection, research, and enforcement.
Mission: Advance labor standards through community and business engagement, strategic enforcement, innovation, research, and policy development with a commitment to workplace justice.
Vision: Create and foster a culture of labor standards compliance in San Diego County that protects the safety of workers and supports employers. We strive for a community without wage theft and workplace harassment.
Values: Equity, Education, Transparency, Accountability, and Making a Difference
OLSE can help with questions about wage theft, fair chance hiring, and employment laws. Our office is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
