Home Safe Program
The Home Safe Program helps Adult Protective Services (APS) clients stay safe and keep stable housing. It provides support to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless because of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial abuse.
Who We Serve
Home Safe helps APS clients who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless due to elder or dependent abuse, neglect, or financial abuse. The County of San Diego’s APS program decides who can get help from the Home Safe Program.
Services Provided:
Home Safe offers many types of housing support for APS clients, including:
- Housing case management
- Eviction prevention
- Rent or mortgage assistance
- Help with security deposits
- Cleaning services to keep safe housing
- Other housing-related financial help
- Help with moving costs
- Temporary or emergency housing
- Transportation for housing needs
- Working with other community agencies
Who Can Qualify
- Must be an APS client
- Must be homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Must agree to work with Home Safe and its partner agencies
How to Make a Referral
To report abuse, neglect, including self-neglect due to housing or homelessness, or to ask if you qualify for Home Safe, call the AIS Call Center at 800-339-4661.
Additional Information
The County of San Diego provides all clients access to its Notice of Privacy Practices. You can find it on the County’s website or ask for a copy. All Home Safe clients will also be provided with the San Diego County Continuation of Care Homeless Management Information System Notice of Privacy Practices.
