Housing

Many organizations provide safe places to sleep and services  to help families find permanent homes. If you need help finding a place to live, there are programs available in San Diego County that can assist you.

Housing services include:

• Temporary shelters
• Transitional housing
• Help with rent
• Affordable rentals
• First-time homebuyer programs
• Home loan assistance

CalWORKs Housing Support Program (HSP)

To receive assistance, families must be currently receiving CalWORKs and be homeless or at risk of homelessness. Please contact your CalWORKs Welfare to Work Employment Case Manager to see if you qualify.

Refugee Housing Support Program (RHSP)

To receive assistance, you must have been in the United States for less than 12 months and be one of the following:

• Refugees
• Cuban/Haitan Entrants
• Certified Trafficking Victims
• Iraqi and Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders
• Amerasians
• Asylees granted asylum within the past 12 months

Families receiving CalWORKs should contact their CalWORKs Welfare to Work Employment Case Manager to see if they qualify.
