Gun Violence Reduction Program

The County’s Gun Violence Reduction Program is committed to enhancing public health and safety through a proactive, community-centered approach. By working in close partnership with residents, local organizations, service providers, and public agencies, the program addresses the underlying causes of gun violence and helps build safer, healthier communities through education, outreach, data-driven strategies, and meaningful policy change.

The program takes a comprehensive view of gun violence, focusing on suicide, domestic and intimate partner violence, and community violence. It explores a full spectrum of prevention strategies—from efforts designed to stop violence before it begins to services that support both immediate and long-term recovery and response.

This multi-faceted approach ensures that all efforts are inclusive, trauma-informed, and responsive to the unique needs of the individuals and communities most impacted.
