Earth Month with the County of San Diego
We hope you enjoy the variety of Earth Month activities assembled here to celebrate our beautiful planet and inspire how we can care for our natural environment. We look forward to celebrating with you in person and virtually the entire month of April. This includes our in-person fair at the County Operations Center, 5500 Overland Drive, on 4/21 from 11 a. m. to 1 p.m.
This site offers something for everyone including events you can join, how-to videos, hikes, science and technology activities, e-book collections, and proactive ways to live more sustainably. You can even visit museums and iconic locations around the world on this site. And don't forget to share your commitment to help the Earth.

Earth Month Events
Earth Fair at County Operations Center
Visit our booths and learn about the ways your County makes a difference protecting and investing in our planet.
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, April 21

Tree Planting + Park Beautification Opportunities
Join us for a morning full of park beautification projects, including tree plantings, invasive vegetation removal and general trash pickup. Your efforts will improve the environment in and around our waterways – part of the larger Creek to Bay Cleanup coordinated by I Love a Clean San Diego! Materials are provided; come ready in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and wear sturdy shoes and sun protection. Don’t forget your own water bottle and gloves!

Nature Discovery Tables
Touch fur, skins, skulls and other animal features at our Nature Discovery Tables. Learn about local wildlife and the unique adaptations that help them survive in a variety of habitats. Our rangers will be on site to answer all of your park-related questions and to help you understand, appreciate and experience ‘the upside of outside!

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Otay Lakes County Park
Thinking About an Electric Car?
Become familiar with the rules of the trails so everyone's experience is enjoyable.
Learn the importance of replanting native trees to replenish the local tree canopy. Using a 5-gallon pot sample first, find the topmost root, then dig a shallow and wide planting hole, finally place the tree in. Don't forget to water your new plant!
