County Administration Center Major Systems Renovation Project

Updates

  • Scaffolding 
    • Scaffolding will be erected around the building in sections through 2026 as the window restoration work completes.
  • Current work includes windows, lighting, HVAC, signage, painting, fire alarm and seismic retrofit at interior spaces.
    • Red Tile Roof replacement completed in April 2025.
    • Elevator Refurbishment of last and 4th elevator completed in 2026.
      • One remaining car to be scheduled for Fall 2025.
  • Emergency Backup Generator replacement completed in September of 2025

The County Administration Center (CAC) Major Systems Renovation Project began in 2019 and is being carried out in phases to minimize impact to operations. The renovation consists of the replacement of life safety, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural items to ensure current safety standards. The project also includes the complete remodel of the Board Chamber with state-of-the-art audio-visual system (now complete), restoration of historic windows, preservation of historic significant features, updated fire alarm system, fire sprinklers throughout, new LED interior lighting, ceilings, exterior painting of the building, rooftop fall restraint systems, new roofing, new emergency generator, new security system, renovation of elevators, and building wide seismic retrofit.
