Partner Relay Program

Partner Relay is a program led by the San Diego County Office of Border Health (Public Health Services) and the Office of Emergency Services. It helps share important information with people who don’t speak English or don’t speak it well, especially during emergencies like natural disasters. We know language, culture, and technology can make it hard for some people to get this information. So, we work with trusted leaders and groups in the community to close these gaps.

Partner Relay’s mission is to make sure everyone in San Diego County gets the information they need to stay safe in emergencies, no matter what language they speak. We work with trusted leaders and organizations to share important safety messages during emergencies.

Sharing Information Icon PR

Sharing Information:
Partner Relay gets vetted emergency updates from the County of San Diego’s Office of Emergency Services and shares them with community groups when emergencies happen. These key partners support in sharing this information with the multicultural communities they serve.

Training and Practice Icon PR

Training and Practice:
We offer training for our partners every three months and run practice sessions to help them learn how to use online tools to share information.

Building a Network Icon PR

Building a Network:
Partner Relay creates a group of trusted partner organizations in the community who share important information in different languages. We also highlight key partners who help us reach more people who speak different languages.

Community Support Icon PR

Community Support:
We work with government, community groups, churches, and healthcare providers to share emergency information and resources. We also send out a monthly newsletter with tips on being prepared and information on community events. We offer special training for community health workers/promotores.
