Earth Day: County Celebration

04/16/25

Earth Day is almost here, and there's a lot to look forward to this month! Founded in the 1970s, Earth Day has grown into a global movement celebrated in over 190 countries as part of a broader environmental protection effort. As part of the County of San Diego’s (County’s) sustainability goals (15), the County will host an Earth Day Fair on Friday, April 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the County Operations Center (COC) campus, located at 5500 Overland Drive, San Diego 92123. The Earth Day Fair will feature interactive booths highlighting the many ways the County is working to protect and invest in our planet.

Sustainability is a key part of the County’s overarching vision: a just, sustainable, and resilient future for all! In addition to the COC Earth Day event, the Climate Action Plan (CAP) Team will also be participating in other events throughout the unincorporated area. Look for us at Spring Valley Day on Saturday, April 26th and the Ramona Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 26th. We’ll be sharing updates on CAP implementation, hosting an interactive boardgame on sustainability, and providing other County resources related to our efforts.
