Detentions

Mandatory Detentions:

• WIC 707(b) offense (14 years and older)
• Personal use of a firearm during felony (14 and older)
• Warrant (in-county, out-of-county, out-of-state)
• Juvenile Detention Order
• Hotsheet

Discretionary Detentions:

• Under age 14, 707(b) offense
• Felony offense, non-707(b) w/ concern for community safety
• Sexual offenses
• Violent Misdemeanor

Other Detentions:

• Federal offenses may be screened (sole charge of illegal entry will not be detained).
  • Probation violations without new charges must be approved by Probation Administrator.

Medical/Psychiatric Considerations (medical care, clearance needed)

• Serious injury/accidents
• Broken bones
• Bleeding
• Loss of consciousness
• Ingestion of Controlled substances/intoxicated
• Difficulty breathing
• Suicide attempt/Serious Mental Health concern
