Farms, fairs, and animal exhibits provide educational and fun opportunities for the community. However, germs can spread between animals and humans in these settings. Livestock and other animals at interactive animal exhibits can carry germs that may cause severe, even fatal illness. Young children, people with weakened immune systems, and older adults and seniors are more likely to get sick from these germs.
Below are guidance documents and signs available to educate staff and visitors on how to prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases.
