Healthcare-Associated Infections Program

The Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Program is in the Epidemiology and Immunization Services Branch (EISB) of the Public Health Services (PHS) department, of the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). This program oversees the prevention, surveillance, and reporting of HAIs and emerging antimicrobial-resistant (AR) pathogens in San Diego’s healthcare facilities.
County of San Diego Public Health derives its authority from the
state, Title 17, California Code of Regulations, (CCR) §2500, §2505,
and §2641.30-2643.20.
