Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Application Process

Depending on the project, federal money may be available for your community. Residents and non-profit entities working in the unincorporated area of the county may propose projects for CDBG funding that benefit low- and moderate-income persons and align with the County's Consolidated Plan. The Community Development Block Grant Application for Fiscal Year 2027-2028 period will open from September 21 – October 30, 2026..

The Application Process

The County releases a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in the Fall outlining available CDBG funds, eligibility requirement, and funding priorities aligned with U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Guidelines.
Eligible applicants submit project proposals by the stated deadline.
Applications are reviewed and scored based on HUD eligibility, financial feasibility, community impact, and County alignment.
Recommended projects are included in the upcoming fiscal Year Annual Plan.
The following Spring, the Annual Plan is made available for public review and comment, during the 30-day comment period. It is then presented to the County Board of Supervisors for their consideration and approval.
Once approved, agreements are executed and funded projects may begin implementation.
