The Application Process

  • The County releases a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in the Fall outlining available CDBG funds, eligibility requirement, and funding priorities aligned with U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Guidelines.
  • Eligible applicants submit project proposals by the stated deadline.
  • Applications are reviewed and scored based on HUD eligibility, financial feasibility, community impact, and County alignment.
  • Recommended projects are included in the upcoming fiscal Year Annual Plan.
  • The following Spring, the Annual Plan is made available for public review and comment, during the 30-day comment period. It is then presented to the County Board of Supervisors for their consideration and approval.
  • Once approved, agreements are executed and funded projects may begin implementation.
