10/12/20
Updated August 25, 2025.
Owners of commercial (including Home Owner Associations), industrial, institutional, public, and agricultural properties served by San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA) member agencies can access rebates for irrigation equipment to help reduce irrigation water use. Under the Landscape Efficiency And Value Enhancement Solutions Program (LEAVES), SDCWA is offering bigger rebates, more device options, and on-the-ground support to help properties across San Diego County become more water-efficient!
As California continues to adapt to a hotter, drier climate, SDCWA is expanding its programs to help property managers, businesses, and institutions not only save water but also comply with new state laws. LEAVES makes upgrading easier by combining rebates, surveys, and incentives all in one program.
The qualifying irrigation devices and maximum rebate amounts are as follows.
Enhanced Rebates for Irrigation Devices
Water-smart irrigation technology is one of the fastest ways to cut costs and reduce waste. LEAVES offers enhanced rebates for:
- Smart Controllers – $60 per station
- Rotating Nozzles – $6 per head
- Rotors – $18 per pair

Additionally, LEAVES offers landscape assistance. Schedule a free evaluation of your property’s irrigation system and receive recommendations for improvement by visiting the survey webpage. You can also receive $2 to $5 a square foot by removing your grass and planting a water smart landscape. To learn more about the turf removal rebate, visit the SDCWA commercial webpage.
These rebates are only available for a limited time. Apply now! For additional rebates in San Diego County’s unincorporated area, please visit the County of San Diego Waterscape Rebate Program.
