Through composting, farmers and ranchers can reduce their environmental footprint and improve their bottom line! When organic waste is composted, instead of releasing methane in a landfill, it breaks down into nutrient-rich compost that can be used to grow crops. Compost improves soil health, increases soil water retention, and can eliminate the need for synthetic fertilizers that harm marine life.
To learn how to get started with composting on your farm or ranch, take our On-Farm Composting Course in partnership with Solana Center for Environmental Innovation. Please visit bit.ly/3M5amwy to learn more and to register.
Composting is a rewarding way to transform your food scraps and yard trimmings, improve your garden, and practice good stewardship of the Earth! But with so much information out there, it can be hard to know where to start.
Our five-week Master Composter Course, in partnership with Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, will teach you everything you need to know to get started with traditional composting, vermicomposting, and bokashi fermentation, from choosing the right compost bin and building a pile to troubleshooting common problems. Visit bit.ly/3PQu3JC to sign up today!
