Upcoming Events
Please join us for an Unincorporated San Diego Residential Cleanup Event at Valley Center Lower Elementary School (28751 Cole Grade Road, Valley Center, CA 92082) on Saturday, May 17 from 8am - 12pm or until capacity is reached.
Unincorporated area residents are invited to properly dispose of bulky items and recycle electronic waste, broken appliances, water heaters, recyclable materials (cardboard, aluminum, hard plastic, glass), green waste, mattresses and box springs, and scrap metal. The event will also include FREE mulch for takeaway, paper shredding services, and will accept reusable items for donation. No household hazardous waste, tires, and construction materials allowed.

Did you know you can use Aerated Static Piles (ASPs) to manage crop residues, food scraps, and manure on your orchard, farm, or ranch? ASPs force air through compost piles via ground-level pipes, encouraging rapid decomposition without the need to turn. Come to a workshop led by Solana Center for Environmental Innovation to see how ASPs work and how they can benefit you on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10:30am - 12:00pm at the Lakeside Library (12428 Woodside Ave, Lakeside, CA 92040).

Please join us for the Alpine Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Collection Event for Unincorporated San Diego County residents at Joan MacQueen Middle School (2001 Tavern Rd, Alpine, CA 91901) on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 9am - 2pm or until capacity is reached.
Unincorporated area residents are invited to properly dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste. Household Hazardous Waste includes but is not limited to batteries, cellphones, printers, computers, motor fluids, oils, household cleaners and other chemicals, LED & fluorescent light bulbs, and paint (see event flyer link for full list of accepted items). Please note tires, bulky items, mattresses, green waste, and hazardous waste from businesses or incorporated City residents is NOT allowed.
