Please join us in Borrego Springs on Saturday, October 26 for the Unincorporated San Diego Residential Cleanup Event at American Legion Post 853 (4515 Borrego Springs Rd) from 8am-12pm or until capacity is reached.

Unincorporated area residents are invited to properly dispose of bulky items, electronic waste, broken appliances, water heaters, recyclable materials, green waste, mattresses and box springs, scrap metal, and passenger vehicle tires (no rims). The event will also include free mulch for takeaway, paper shredding services, and will accept reusable items for donation.

Please join us in Warner Springs on Saturday, November 9, 2024 for the Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Collection Event for Unincorporated San Diego County residents at the Warner Springs Community Resource (30950 CA HWY 79) from 9am-2pm or until capacity is reached.

Unincorporated area residents are invited to properly dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste. Household Hazardous Waste includes but is not limited to batteries, cellphones, printers, computers, motor fluids, oils, household cleaners and other chemicals, LED & fluorescent light bulbs, and paint (see event flyer link for full list of accepted items). Please note tires, bulky items, mattresses, green waste, and hazardous waste from businesses or incorporated City residents is NOT allowed.

Solana Center’s knowledgeable educators will teach you all you need to know to get started with a garden that fits San Diego’s semi-arid climate. All pre-registered attendees who are residents of unincorporated San Diego County will receive a FREE kitchen scraps container, courtesy of the County of San Diego. Click here to sign up. 

Learn how you can save money and reduce pests by composting your livestock manure! Composting manure also helps protect your local watershed, prevents pollution in waterways, and produces a fantastic soil amendment. Composting is easy and inexpensive and can help reduce flies, odors, and waterway contamination. Vermicomposting (worm composting) has benefits for everyone, whether you want to divert kitchen scraps from the landfill, compost in small spaces, or create a natural fertilizer for your plants. Join us at the lovely Water Conservation Garden to learn how to start and maintain a happy home for red wiggler worms. All workshop attendees will have free entry into the Garden, which can be explored following the workshop.
