An underground trash capture device was installed under Goldentop Road to remove trash and debris from stormwater runoff before it enters the storm drain system, which discharges to the San Dieguito River and ultimately the Pacific Ocean.

A modular wetland system improves water quality by filtering runoff through native plants and soil, removing pollutants such as bacteria—mimicking the natural cleaning process found in nature.
