Mapleview Street Biofiltration and Channel Restoration Project

Water Quality Improvement Project | Completed Spring 2024

Line

Located along Mapleview Street, this project cleans stormwater runoff and improves walkability in the Lakeside Community.

Mapleview_Before

Before This Project

  • Runoff from the street carried pollution into nearby waterways, contributing to water quality issues in the San Diego River.
  • A sidewalk gap along Mapleview Street limited pedestrian safety and walkability.

After This Project

  • Planted dispersion and biofiltration basins (rain gardens) filter pollutants from runoff, helping keep waterways clean.
  • A new sidewalk improves safety and makes it easier to walk along Mapleview Street.
