are always performed as part of your clinic visit unless:
- You already have an HIV positive diagnosis, or
- You tell your provider that you do not want an HIV test.

- Syphilis
- Trichomoniasis
- Vaginal testing for bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections
- Pregnancy testing
- Court-ordered HIV testing (South Region Sexual Health Clinic only)
- HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) education, clinical evaluation (including testing), and linkage to PrEP medication.
- HIV
non-occupational Post Exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP) education
and medication or assistance with a referral for nPEP.
- DoxyPEP for bacterial STI prevention
- Treatment for most STIs
- Provider administered cryotherapy for anogenital warts
- Vaccines to protect against:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)—For patients without health insurance or whose health insurance does not cover vaccines
- Influenza (Flu Shot)
- Mpox
To protect your health information, we require a photo ID when checking in.
Most of the above tests DO NOT require that you be fasting.* In fact, we encourage you to eat something before you come to the clinic. If you are unable to eat before your clinic visit and you need an antibiotic, snacks are available in the clinic. If you have any food allergies, please bring your own snack.
*If you are considering starting PrEP, fasting may be required for certain lab tests depending on the medication you are interested in, contact us for more information (619) 409-3089 | e-mail.
No Appointments—All County Sexual Health Clinics are walk-in clinics only.
Save time by printing and filling out the clinic registration forms before coming for your visit.
Testing, treatment and/or vaccinations will be recommended by your healthcare provider based on the risk assessment, physical exam (if applicable), and national guidelines and standards. Your provider may not recommend all of the tests listed above. If you have any questions about recommended testing, treatment, and/or vaccines, please ask your healthcare provider.
- Blood test for herpes simplex virus
- HPV testing
- PAP smears
- Birth control (other than condoms)
- Emergency contraception
- Treatment for medical issues that are not STI-related
- Treatment of HIV infection
- Treatment of hepatitis B or hepatitis C
- Pregnancy (prenatal) care
- Surgical wart removal
- Evidence collection for cases of sexual assault/rape
*If you need any of the services listed above that we do not provide, we will help direct you to the appropriate place.
County Sexual Health Clinics do not accept or work with any insurance providers or Medi-Cal. All sexual health services are cash-based. We accept cash, checks, credit cards, and apple pay.
The sexual health clinic fee is $40 per visit*. This fee covers the cost of the visit and any follow-up visits within 30 days and may include:
- A risk assessment
- Physical exam (if necessary)
- Comprehensive STI and HIV laboratory tests
- Treatments
- Vaccinations
There is no fee if you are only getting tested for HIV.
*If you are not able to pay the $40 fee, this fee may be waived.
County Home Testing Programs
- Don't Think, Know San Diego — Free vaginal chlamydia and gonorrhea home testing for people under 25 in San Diego County.
- TakeMeHome — Free home STIs testing for people who haven't been tested in the last year, including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and hepatitis C.
