Housing Unlocked

Section Divider

Overview

The County is currently working to progress housing goals and implement the 6th Cycle Housing Element, including analyzing the Zoning Ordinance. This project will explore options including potentially amending the Zoning Ordinance to unlock the General Plan vision for housing.

Per the Housing Element implementation plan, the County is reviewing the Zoning Ordinance land use and development regulations for consistency with the General Plan. This project aims to resolve any barriers originating from the Zoning Ordinance by aligning the Zoning Ordinance development regulations with existing General Plan policies for development.

PDS will conduct outreach to stakeholders to clearly communicate project objectives, and to receive input on the process for eligible projects. The project team will be meeting with Community Planning/Sponsor Groups, industry professionals, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders in a series of public and small-group meetings. This project is kicking off in 2025 and will be an approximately 3 year effort.
