Equity-Driven Tree Planting Program Private Property Tree Planting Initiative Application

Instructions: In order to successfully apply, please follow the steps below:

Step 1. Read through content and program guidelines on the Equity Driven Tree Planting Program website.

Step 2. Use the Find Your Sunset Zone Map to determine if the property is eligible for the program, and to obtain the correct Sunset Zone by entering the property address in the search bar and selecting search feature.

Step 3. To see the available tree species to choose from, open the ‘tree list link’ that populates within the map. Note: Tree species not included on current tree list for the property’s Sunset Zone will NOT be approved.

Step 4. Print or open the Property Owner Tree Planting Agreement [download in English or Spanish], and include either a wet or digital signature from the legal property owner. If designating a site contact (optional), please also include their signature.

Step 5. Apply using the application, below. Please fill out all required fields and upload the signature page of the signed Property Owner Tree Planting Agreement via the document upload feature within the application. Do not upload images that are not of the signed agreement.

Step 6. Use the ‘Submit Application’ button to finalize and send the application.

Step 7. Monitor the inboxes for the email addresses included in the application for confirmation and next steps.

 I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to collect the requested tree(s) from the designated pick-up location on the agreed-upon date and within the specified timeframe. Furthermore, I understand that I am responsible for safely loading, transporting, and planting the trees in compliance with the program's guidelines and requirements. I am committed to ensuring that these tasks are completed efficiently and responsibly.
 I have read, understood, and agree to comply with all the guidelines and requirements set forth by the Equity Driven Tree Planting Program, Private Property Tree Planting Initiative. I acknowledge that failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in consequences, including potential disqualification from program incentives and future participation.
 I confirm that all requested trees will be planted at the property indicated in my application and that the tree planting locations will be reported to the County of San Diego through the provided application no later than 30 days after tree pick-up. Moreover, I agree to fulfill all reporting requirements, including submitting a report at the time of tree planting and providing annual health updates for the subsequent three years. I understand that timely and accurate reporting is vital for the success of the Equity Driven Tree Planting Program's Private Property Tree Planting Initiative, as it enables effective monitoring of the planted trees' health.
