Request a Letter of Support for the Innovation Partnership Fund (Round 1)
The Commission for Behavioral Health (CBH) announced the first round of the Innovation Partnership Fund (IPF) Request for Application (RFA) on March 20, 2026. This initiative aims to award up to $20 million in grants this year to drive bold, equity-centered innovations within California’s public behavioral health system. The initial round of IPF offers two distinct grant categories, each with specific eligibility requirements:
- Category 1 – Small Grants (Less than $500,000) are exclusively open to community-based organizations, non-profit entities, and/or tribal organizations.
- Category 2 – Large Grants ($500,000 to $5,000,000) are open to all organization and entity types including public, private, and non-profit entities.
Grant Application Deadline: May 8, 2026, by 12:00pm PST
Letters of Support for Innovation Partnership Grant
Per the Request for Application, applicants may obtain and submit at least one (1) a Letter of Support from at least one (1) County Behavioral Health Department with their application.
Receipt of a Letter of Support from the San Diego County Behavioral Health Agency does not guarantee that the State will award grant funding for a project, nor does it constitute a commitment of funding or services from Behavioral Health Services.
Request a Letter of Support
- Complete the BHS Draft Letter of Support Attachment 4-1
Template (Word document) that incorporates the required language
from the RFA template.
- Input all entity and project information as indicated on the template.
- Submit your completed Draft Letter of Support Template via email
to BHSContactUs.HHSA@sdcounty.ca.gov no later than two weeks
prior to the date needed.
- Include “Innovation Partnership Fund” and the name of the entity in the subject line of the email. Example: “Innovation Partnership Fund [Name of Entity]”.
- Ensure all contact information is provided in the email to avoid delays. County staff may contact you with questions or more information. If your request for a Letter of Support is approved, the contact(s) listed will receive the Letter via email.
