BHAB Priorities for 2026

Each year, BHAB identifies behavioral health policies that enhance BHAB's value to the community and inform the establishment of BHAB subcommittees. The priorities listed below, as identified by BHAB members through discussion at BHAB convenings, focus on behavioral health policy implications while acknowledging the intersection with crimial justice and community engagement.

BHEAVIORAL HEALTH POLICY IMPLICATIONS

  • Continuum of Care
    • BHAB will support efforts to increase a culture of transparency where sharing strengths and challenges is encouraged by service providers and people across the continuum of care and their impact on the system and the people it is designed to serve.
  • Enhancing Communication and Community Voice
    • BHAB will strengthen clear, consistent, two-way communication by creating accessible, sustainable communication mechanisms, informed by community-based organizations, contracted partners, and other stakeholders' input, to elevate insights, concerns, and lived experience directly with BHAB, including around challenges navigating the behavioral health system.
    • BHAB will focus on improving the flow of timely and accurate information back to the community about initiatives, services, policies, navigation supports, and engagement opportunities to build trust, transparency, and meaningful influence on system priorities.

Bylaws

BHAB Bylaws clarify BHAB structure and roles to ensure consistency, accountability, and effective succession planning. Bylaws serve as a foundational document guiding BHAB operation and governance, ensuring they function effectively, transparently, and in accordance with legislated requirements and ethical standards.
