- Behavioral health support services are not a replacement for treatment but may complement and enhance treatment plans for those who have them.
- Programs on this page are limited to County Behavioral Health Services (BHS) programs, and do not include all support services accessed by BHS clients and their families that play a critical role in recovery and may be funded through other sources.

Clubhouses
Meeting places for adults with mental health conditions that provide safe settings for members to find support and friendship among peers who share similar lived experiences. Learn more and find Clubhouse locations.

Drop-in Centers for LGBTQ+ Youth

Come Play Outside provides low or no-cost programs such as aquatics, adventure camp, Teen Nite, and movies in the park in 21 recreation centers and aquatic centers across San Diego's South and Central neighborhoods.Youth and Family Support Services

Youth and Family Support Services provides community-based case management and support with accessing behavioral health services and community resources for children, youth, and families living in Southeast San Diego. -
Supported Employment Services
Supported employment helps people with serious mental health conditions get and keep a job aligned with their unique personal strengths by providing the supports needed to help them succeed. These programs use the evidence-based Individual Placement and Support model based on eight core principles.
In addition to the program listed below that is specific to employment services, various BHS programs also have supported employment specialists embedded within clinical teams when job seeking is an identified goal of the person receiving care. Call the ACL at 1-888-724-7240 for more information.

San Diego Employment Solutions provides opportunities to help adults living with serious mental illness obtain competitive employment with the ongoing support necessary to ensure success in the workplace. -
Support Services for People Experiencing Homelessness
If you are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and have a mental health or substance use condition, housing support may be included as part of your behavioral health care.

Parent Support Services
Positive Parenting Program

The Positive Parenting Program helps parents and guardians of children and youth ages 0-16 years in San Diego County find positive solutions to common childhood behavior issues using research-supported strategies through seminars, group sessions, or individual consultations. Free workshops are offered in English and Spanish across San Diego.ACEs Prevention Parenting Program for Fathers
The programs listed below aim to engage and educate fathers and caregivers in the prevention of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in their children. Programs are located across the county and provide a free 12-week program on parenting techniques and skills for fathers to support positive childhood experiences and create stronger bonds with their children.
