The Fee To Trust (FTT) process is a federal process for tribal governments to secure land that they own into their reservations. When a tribal government in the San Diego region applies to the federal government to secure land into trust, the County receives a notice from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) seeking comments. The County has 30-days to review each notice and submit comments to the BIA, which typically focus on effects the FTT transfer may have on County tax revenue and suggestions related to future development of the land. Please refer to the BIA’s website for additional information on the FTT process.

Below you will find a list of notices the County has received and commented on. If you would like to submit comments on any FTT application, please forward them to the BIA office listed within the notice letter.

The County is committed to receiving community and stakeholder comments. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the Project Manager listed above.
