Erin Chancler, Administrator

Ms. Chancler has been a licensed Administrator since 1999 and joined the Edgemoor team in December 2018. Ms Chancler was previously the Administrator at Villa Las Palmas Healthcare Center.   She also held Administrator roles with other health facilities including Country Hills Health Care, Monterey Care Center, and The Royal Home.  Ms, Chancler has extensive experience in facility management, regulatory compliance and clinical excellence. She currently serves on the American Health Care Association Not for Profit Council and is an active participant in the California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF).  Ms. Chancler holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from UC Santa Barbara.

Juanita Rettinghaus, Assistant Medical Services Administrator

Ms. Rettinghaus is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with over 35 years’ experience successfully managing large and small health care licensed facilities in the private sector. She has extensive experience providing services to the aged, the disabled and the intellectually disabled in SNFs, ICF/ID, ICF/ID-N and CCL facilities. As the Assistant Medical Services Administrator, Ms. Rettinghaus supervises multiple departments and provides support on the Executive Team. She is a long-time member of the California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF) and served multiple terms as the Secretary of the Developmental Services Conference. Ms. Rettinghaus served as President of the San Diego Health Care Association (SDHCA) 2010-2016, promoting the involvement of skilled nursing facilities in local health care issues. She is a member of the SNF Disaster Preparedness Task Force, is the Area Coordinator for the East 2 Region and is an active member on the SDHCA Board of Directors.

Rebecca Ferrini, MD, MPH, CMD, Medical Director

Dr. Rebecca Ferrini has been the full time Medical Director at Edgemoor since 2000 and holds Board Certifications in General Preventive Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine; as well as, a Certified Medical Director Certification from the American Medical Director’s Association (AMDA). She cares for patients at Edgemoor with two other Board-Certified Physicians. She was honored in 2009 as the AMDA Medical Director of the Year for her role in improving the quality of care at the facility. She was the lead author on the toolkit on Managing Younger Adults in Long Term Care for which she was awarded the 2013 AMDA Clinical Practice Committee Volunteer of the Year. She publishes and speaks on topics related to consent and capacity, quality improvement and lean systems, risk mitigation, difficult patient populations, Huntington Disease, and behavioral management. She is passionate about quality and creating a therapeutic environment for healing.

Merlyn Trinidad, RN-BSN, Director of Nursing

Merlyn Trinidad, RN-BSN, has chosen Long Term Care as her field of practice for the past 22 years. She comes to the Director of Nursing position with over 25 years of nursing experience and more than 20 years in nursing administration. She was honored in 2018 as both the CAHF Nurse of the Year and the Philippine Nurses Association of San Diego (PNASD) Nurse Administrator of the Year. Ms. Trinidad has worked as a Supervisory Nurse and Assistant Director of Nursing since 2012. Ms. Trinidad oversees the nursing operations and functions of over 200 nurses at Edgemoor. She works with all other disciplines to assure resident care meets the highest standards. She is an active member in the National Association Directors of Nursing Administration (NADONA). Ms. Trinidad is hands-on, and management oriented, with an emphasis on staff consistency and retention. She is committed to excellence and the education of current and future nurses who will be working in Long Term Care.
