The emergency services are provided by a combination of professionally trained volunteer and career staff. Additionally, the San Diego County Fire Authority coordinates regional fire prevention for unincorporated San Diego County.

The recent rains have resulted in improved fuel moisture levels countywide. As a result, CAL FIRE San Diego has lifted the burn permit suspension that was in place for San Diego and Imperial Counties. Beginning Monday, December 10 at 8:00, residents in unincorporated areas of San Diego and Imperial counties are able to begin their agricultural and yard debris burning in State Responsibility Areas (SRA). Please contact your local fire station for specific requirements and restrictions prior to burning.
