Projects in the following areas are reviewed by SDCFA

Borrego Springs FPD, Deer Springs FPD, Julian-Cuyamaca FPD, Lakeside FPD, Ramona FPD, Mootamai MWD, Pauma Valley MWD, Yuima MWD, and the communities within CSA 135. If your project is not within one of these areas, you will need to submit your plans to the appropriate FAHJ (Fire Authority Having Jurisdiction).

Plan Submittal Requirements

BUILDING PLANS (RESIDENTIAL/COMMERCIAL PROJECTS)

  • Plans for residential and commercial building projects must be submitted to the County Building Division and will be routed internally to our offices.

GRADING PLANS

  •  Grading plans processed in conjunction with a residential building permit application, and through the County Building Division, will be routed internally to our offices.
  •  Grading plans processed through the Land Development Division will not be routed internally to our offices and must be submitted directly (hand carried or mailed). 

AUTOMATIC FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

  • Plans for automatic fire sprinkler systems designed to NFPA 13D standard (residential projects only) are to be submitted directly to our offices. Three sets of plans and three copies of the system calculations and cut sheets for each type of fire sprinkler head specified, as well as system components, must be provided. Plan sheets must be folded to an 8.5 x 11 format (rolled plans will not be accepted). Plans may be hand-carried or mailed - for return by mail once the review is complete, a postage paid, USPS only, envelope must be provided (we cannot process return mail via UPS, FedEx, etc.).
  •  Plans for automatic fire sprinkler systems designed to NFPA 13 and 13R standard (commercial and multi-family residential projects) must be submitted directly to Parsley Consulting for review.

ALTERNATIVE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS

  • Plans for an alternative fire suppression system are to be submitted directly to our offices. Three sets of plans and three copies of the system specifications must be provided. Plan sheets must be folded to an 8.5 x 11 format (rolled plans will not be accepted). Plans may be hand-carried or mailed - for return by mail once the review is complete, a postage paid, USPS only, envelope must be provided (we cannot process return mail via UPS, FedEx, etc.).

FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS

  • Plans for a fire alarm system are to be submitted directly to Parsley Consulting for review.

PROJECT FACILITY AVAILABILITY - FIRE

  •  Form PDS-399F may be hand-carried, mailed, or emailed to our offices. All submittals must be accompanied by a Plot Plan for the project, and are to be directed to the attention of Steven Kelly Gaffrey, Fire Prevention Specialist II (steven.gaffrey@sdcounty.ca.gov)
