Routine maintenance will be carried out on the underground gas extraction system for eastern closed landfill in late August and early September.  This is routine maintenance; the first two days will be August 22 and 23 during the day with no impact to airport operations.  During the nights of September 4-5 and 5-6 additional work will take place that will require closure of the runway between 10PM and 6AM each night.  For airport users, please check Notice to Airmen for closure details.  Thank you.

Some of the finest beaches in San Diego County are close to the airport and offer surfers, swimmers and sun worshipers balmy weather and beautiful ocean waters most of the year.
